Blog Journal 8 Diigo is an interesting tool, as it is essentially a bookmarking tool for websites, similar to how one bookmarks and highlights on an ebook. What I learned when using it was that it allows for other people to see the main points about an article without needing to read the entire thing. This tool can useful in a multitude of settings, as it can help in keeping people on task when surveying articles and other similar websites. How I would use Bloom's Taxonomy in regards to PowerPoint would be to create a slide explaining each of the steps. Bloom's Taxonomy is something on learns without realizing it, as it is something we all do whenever we learn something new. However, explaining it to someone from an early age will allow for that person to remember/learn it at an early age. Leading to be able to use it without realizing it. Technology and teacher development go hand in hand. This is because as technology improves, the world needs to improve with it. Once t...

Journal 7 This is not my first time using Twitter. However, I use it more casually not for anything serious. For this class, I had to use Twitter in a different way. I had to learn how to use it as a kind of information gathering tool. Instead of using it casually, I began to use it more to know more about education (which is a version of Twitter I had never imagined I would use). The benefits of using Twitter in such a way is that one is using it in a more professional sense, as a lot of the things I view are a lot more professional. This is where the difficulty in using Twitter lies. Because of my casual approach to Twitter, I find it difficult to assimilate to using it professionally. It takes me a moment for me to get out of a casual headspace when I use it. Overall, it has been an interesting experience that I may need to recall on in the future. I had made a website before, but it was a long time ago. However, I still had the basics of it in my head. The most difficult challe...

Journal 6 The school website that I visited was my old high school's page. However, as I went through the website, I could not find pages for the teachers. There seemed to be something similar to it, but all the pages were blank. The website is broad in terms what it offers, only showing what entices parents to have the school. From what I remember, while I attended, was that there was a separate website where one could view information about the teacher and classes. However, I no longer have access to the website. I checked each grade level to make sure I did not miss anything, but there was nothing to be found. My school (it was PK-12) was called Baldwin School: baldwin-school.org Since technology has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, I can easily envision myself using it for my professional responsibilities. Not sure sure how it will help me do it more effectively, though. The best thing I can come up with is that I learn the some of the intricacies so...
Journal 5 Diigo was an interesting experience. Mainly because it was such a new thing for me to use (and I had never heard of it before). I thought it would difficult to use at first, but once I began to use it, it became much easier. The best part about it is that it allows for once to highlight important aspects of an article, which helps in understanding longer articles. Also putting comments is a good way to write down ones thoughts or add on to another person's thoughts. Blogging is also a new experience for me. I have never blogged before, but I had heard about it. I had always dismissed as something old fashioned (and I still do, to an extent), and never gave it too much thought. I cannot say that I like blogging, but I also do not dislike it either. I'm split down the middle in that regard. What I have learned from blogging is more about what I learned about other people from their blogs. It was easier to understand their opinions on matters this way, as it allowed ...
Journal 4 - Twitter While I have used Twitter before, this was the first time it was in such a different way. I have have yet to really interact with anyone, there was an instance where I gave a short anecdote on the the impact that Kobe Bryant had and that garnered a short response of just a GIF. Twitter can be useful in the future to get information across at a moments notice. If there is something that one wants to share, they can share it almost instantly. Digital divide is that gap between certain generations and their ability to understand/use technology. The way digital divide affects students is that something new and revolutionary could be introduced and they would have no idea how to use it. There is also the lack of exposure to any kind of technology that can increase that divide greatly. How this could affect me as a teacher would be in how technology could evolve even further and I would not have the knowledge to operate it. The best way I could combat it would be to l...
