This is not my first time using Twitter. However, I use it more casually not for anything serious. For this class, I had to use Twitter in a different way. I had to learn how to use it as a kind of information gathering tool. Instead of using it casually, I began to use it more to know more about education (which is a version of Twitter I had never imagined I would use). The benefits of using Twitter in such a way is that one is using it in a more professional sense, as a lot of the things I view are a lot more professional. This is where the difficulty in using Twitter lies. Because of my casual approach to Twitter, I find it difficult to assimilate to using it professionally. It takes me a moment for me to get out of a casual headspace when I use it. Overall, it has been an interesting experience that I may need to recall on in the future.

I had made a website before, but it was a long time ago. However, I still had the basics of it in my head. The most difficult challenge of creating the website, was the topic itself. As mentioned with Twitter, I do not feel like I was in the right headspace when creating the website. The mindset of a teacher is a lot more organized compared to who I am as a person. Creating something organized proved to be a lot more difficult. Despite that, knowing how to properly design a website is necessary for the future. As it may be a place where you put all of your professional information.

During my time in school, I never saw anyone need any kind of assistive or adaptive technology. No one had a disability that required the need for it. There were measures in place if it ever happened, but it was never needed. There was a classmate of mine that had ADHD, but he did not need anything to help him learn. All he had was extra time on exams. I had another classmate that came from Spain and he could not speak English, so in English class we would slow down a bit for him to keep up. However, I would call it adaptive technology, as nothing technological was used. Challenges I would face in using adaptive technologies is something I never thought about. Since I have never experienced it myself, I cannot accurately say what kind of challenges I would face.

  1. Hello!
Your website is really put together and informative by section. I love in your additional resources tab there are handouts to articles to read. Even I remember reading the Tell Tale Heart back in school but probably 8th grade. I wish I could of made my website a bit better as in centering my photos but sadly I rushed because I was really busy.
